Workaway experience at La Belle Eco

At La Belle Eco we create a multicultural community. We host volunteers from around the world who want to live with us and in exchange help with everyday chores and tasks. What is it like to live in this patchwork family and deal with cultural differences? We will tell you all about it!

 It’s the idea of sharing – we share our knowledge about sustainable living, cooking and gardening, volunteers share their time and skills to help us run our beautiful paradise. But it’s much more than that. We all share our cultures, traditions, languages. We share moments, laughs and sometimes tears. Those kinds of relationships often change to long-term friendships. We are open to diversity, and we respect our differences.  

What is it like to be a volunteer? 

Imagine you leave your home for a few weeks, maybe months. You live in a different country, communicate in a language which is not your native one. You live with strangers in a completely new place. This sounds like getting completely out of your comfort zone, doesn’t it? 

And yes – It might be scary at the beginning, but you can gain much more than lose. We asked our volunteers what the benefits of working away are and here are their answers: 

“I think working away gives you opportunities to new experiences, meeting new people, travel, and get involve with local culture”

“Working away is a cheaper way to travel. You can just give a few hours of your time, and you get a place to sleep and food to eat. Some places are really amazing to visit – here in La Belle Eco meals are incredible, and the house and garden are just astonishing!”

How to become our volunteer? 

We started our cooperation with Worldpackers website in March 2024. This is the safest community for travel and volunteering, which connects with millions of conscientious travelers and welcomes hosts around the world. Since then, we have already hosted about 20 volunteers. La Belle Eco offers knowledge, accommodation and everyday meals in exchange for house, garden or social media work. Our volunteers work 25 hours a week and the rest of the time they can spend travelling or enjoying La Belle Eco’s facilities.
